Lachlan Bramble - Violin

Whilst at school he won first prizes at the Dandenong and Waverley Eisteddfods and was awarded the L.Mus.A diploma in 1998. He went on to study music at the University of Melbourne under Mark Mogilevsky, receiving the Peg Oldfield Prize upon graduation in 2003. Lachlan continued his studies with Barbara-Jane Gilby at the Australian National University gaining a Masters degree in Music Performance in March 2005. He has also taken lessons in Europe with Lydia Mordkovitch, Howard Davis, Dora Schwarzberg, Peter Sheppard-Skaerved and has performed in masterclasses for Cho-Liang Lin and Regis Pasquier.
Lachlan has always been extensively involved orchestral performance. He was a member of the Australian Youth Orchestra from 2001 to 2005, performing as Principal 2nd violin in 2002 and as concertmaster in 2005. Lachlan has been a casual member of the Melbourne Symphony, Orchestra Victoria, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and was Principal 2nd Violin of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra in 2004. Lachlan is currently Associate Principal 2nd Violin with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and has also performed as Acting Concertmaster and opening batsmen of the infamous ASO cricket team. He has shared the stage with Luciano Pavarotti, Nigel Kennedy, Ben Folds, James Morrison and the Hilltop Hoods.
As a chamber musician, Lachlan was violinist with the Berkeley Ensemble for their 2003 concert series and has performed several times with the Kegelstatt Ensemble in Adelaide. He has also tutored the violins of the Australian and Adelaide Youth Orchestras and has conducted workshops for the Australian Strings Association.
